West Scrubber
The wet scrubber are used for two purposes.
First method is to keep dust.
With the help of the flue gas nozzle, water sprinksles from the top to down and the water which sprinkles from the bottom to up wash the particles, which fall dawn.
This method is more expensive, due to the price and water loss.
Second method is to keep sulfur.
Using fuels with sulfur in steam generating units yields a potential hazard of sulfur corrosion at the cold end of the boiler. The severity depends on factors like percentage of sulfur in the fuel. For instance sulfur percentage in coil more than %1, may cause corrosion and enviromental pollution due to this wet fitler is required.
System set icludes: Wet fitler settling tank, fresh air burner, circulation pumps, Ph control unit, dosing system and other equipment.
System operation;
Circulation pumps push down under nozzle pressure. In result of spray-wash, gravity forces sulfur particles to settle.
With addition of caustic soda and lime milk to pool which contains collected particles, reaction with fresh air forms Sulfuric acid (H2SO4). The resulting reaction, settle to the bottom in the form of limestone.
Droplets which are formed in the flue gas after washing, held via protectors in connection. As a result of this no emissions occur.
